Rhoddwyd y pwysau ymlaen gan Bwllheli gyda rhedeg cryf a a phasio chwim, ac er bod y Gleision wedi amddiffyn yn dda am gyfnod, yn y pen draw ildiwyd trosgais. ‘Roedd yn dro i Rhuthun ymosod, ond ar ôl gwaith da gan y blaenwyr yn 22 Pwllheli, fe gollwyd y bêl yn dilyn trafod gwael a thorodd Pwllheli o’u hanner eu hunain am eu hail trosgais. O fewn deg munud ymhellach, sgoriodd Bwllheli dau gais eto a chael eu pwynt bonws. Nid oedd y Gleision yn isel eu hysbryd, ac ar ôl rhoi pwysau ymlaen yn 22 Pwllheli, fe groesodd Gareth Morgan y gwyngalch am gais a droswyd gan Bennett. Ar yr egwyl, 27-10 i Bwllheli oedd y sgôr, ac er bod y Gleision wedi dechrau’r ail hanner yn ymosod, y tîm cartref aeth ymhellach ar y blaen. With Pwllheli having their on the title and Ruthin trying to improve on their poor run in the second half of the season this game started at a fast pace and didn’t let off until the final whistle blew with Pwllheli scoring 60 more points than the visitors. First points went to Pwllheli with a penalty goal within 5 minutes countered by fly half Callum Bennett slotting over a penalty goal himself 5 minutes later. Pwllheli began to up the pressure with strong running and quick offloads and although the Blues defended well for a period eventually they succumbed to a converted try. It was then Ruthin’s turn to attack but after some good forwards play in Pwllheli’s 22 lost the ball through poor handling and Pwllheli broke from their own half to score their second converted try. Within 10 minutes they had scored another two tries and got their bonus point. The Blues were not down however and after pressure in Pwllheli’s 22 centre Gareth Morgan went over the whitewash for a try which Bennett converted. The score at the break was 27-10 to Pwllheli and although the Blues started the second half on the attack it was the home side that went further ahead. After a clearance from their own 22 put them back in the visitors half, their winger dodged through Ruthin’s defence for a converted try. Pwllheli went down to 14 men with a sin bin and Ruthin used their advantage to attack again and replacement front row Zak Roberts grabbed a try which was converted by Bennett. Although behind at 34-17 Ruthin were still in the game against this skilful Pwllheli side and were not expecting the onslaught that came in the next 20 minutes. The home side ran in seven further tries at the rate of one every 3 minutes with a now dispirited Ruthin side unable to do anything about it. Their attempts to stem the tide were valiant but too often resulted in them losing the ball to a rampant opposition. The whistle finally blew to the relief of Ruthin players and spectators with the score 77-17 to Pwllheli with Pwllheli having done all they could to keep in contention for the league title.
